NuTennis Tournament

Tournament Overview

We are excited to welcome you to NuTennis, the maiden tennis tournament from NuVentures Inc. Join us for a day of networking, friendly competition, and lots of fun in the sun. Get a chance to meet and catch up with who’s who of Bangalore’s entrepreneurship scene – including startup founders, VC firm analysts and more. This closed-door event has limited spots, unlimited food and beverages and limitless networking opportunities.

Showing up for the tournament won’t just be to cheer for your team – it will be to support a good cause. Proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the Indian Wheelchair Tennis Tour – an initiative by the NGO Astha. Your generous contributions will contribute toward a non-profit organization working to empower people with physical disabilities through sport, education and voting rights.

How to Register Your Team

Registering is easy. Simply gather your team and complete our online registration form. Fill out the registration form below, provide your team details, make the payment and secure your team’s spot in the tournament.

Rules of the Tournament

Our tournament is built on fair play and sportsmanship. Key guidelines include:

1. Eligibility

  • Open to employees working for corporate firms in Bengaluru.
  • Players must register by 30th April.
  • Each participating team must pay a registration fee of Rs. 7500. Min of 2
    players is Mandatory.
  • The team may have a Woman player if available which is not Mandatory.

2. Tournament Format 

  • Round Robin 1 top team from each group will be selected for the knock out stage.
  • Matches will be in Singles / Doubles / Mixed Doubles format.
  • Round Robin matches will be Best of 3 Short sets with final set played for a 10 point super Tie breaker.
  • Knock out matches will be best of 3 sets with final set played for a 10 point Super Tie breaker.

3. Match Rules

  • Standard ITF (International Tennis Federation) rules apply.
  • Deuce 2 points format.
  • Players must report to the court 15 minutes before their scheduled match.

4. Equipment

  • Players must bring their own tennis gear (rackets, non-marking shoes). 
  • Balls will be provided by the organizers.
  • Proper athletic attire is required.

5. Code of Conduct

  • Respect for all participants, referees, and volunteers is mandatory.
  • Unsportsmanlike behavior (verbal abuse, racquet throwing, etc.) will lead to disqualification.
  • Alcohol and smoking are prohibited on or near the courts during matches.

6. Injury & Substitutions

  • In case of injury, a medical time-out of up to 3 minutes post diagnosis is allowed.
  • Substitutes are not allowed mid-match.
  • If a player retires, the opponent advances.
  • No players names can be added or changed once the Tie is drawn.

 7. Prizes

  • Trophies or medals for winners and runners-up.
  • Special awards may be given for the most Promising player.

8. Disputes

  • All disputes will be resolved by the Tournament Committee. The Committee’s decision will be final.

Charity benefit

A portion of the registration proceeds will benefit Indian Wheelchair Tennis Tour, a division of the NGO Astha, an organization dedicated to empowering persons with disabilities through sports, education, and inclusive civic engagement. IWTT’s main aim is to promote wheelchair tennis – a thriving paralympic sport and every entry helps support a meaningful cause while you enjoy the game.
