NuVentures ventured into ‘nu’ territory as the Sponsor for TGS100 Startup awards at the TiE Global Summit 2024!

NuVentures played an active role at the TiE Global Summit (TGS), one of the biggest entrepreneurship events globally, which was held in Bengaluru and Mysuru between December 9-12. NuVentures was associated with TGS 2024 in the 6 month lead up, and our team along with Madan Padaki and Ritu Sharma from TiE Bangalore was at the forefront of two important aspects of the summit – the TGS100 challenge and the the Road to TGS webinar series. NuVentures was the co-sponsor for the TiE Global Summit’s marquee event – TGS100 challenge, which saw over 1,100 applications.

The TGS100 Jury in deliberation to pick the winners: Venk Krishnan – Founder, NuVentures; Ravi Gururaj – Founder & CEO, Lepmile Robotics; Sudhir Sethi – Managing Partner, Chiratae Ventures; Vani Kola – Founder & MD, Kalaari Capital; BV Jagadeesh – Partner, SVQuad

TGS100 saw extremely innovative companies across healthtech, B2B SaaS, fintech etc. Climate tech was also a big focus area for many startups, and there were a plethora of innovative ideas – from using AI to help farmers make better decisions to enabling easier payment transactions on EV charging infrastructure.

As VCs we often miss out on looking at the social aspect, but the social impact by many startups at TGS100 was commendable – from helping students in government schools learn coding to helping differently-abled navigate everyday life.

NuVentures Founder, Venk Krishnan, was part of the grand jury for the Top 10 pitches, along with Vani Kola of Kalaari, Sudhir Sethi of Chirate Ventures, BV Jagadeesh of SVQuad, and Ravi Gururaj of LeapMile Robotics. The calibre and sheer passion of the TGS100 startups was a great boost and validation for NuVentures deciding to co-sponsor this segment.

Winner of TGS100 – Anushka Purohit, Founder of Breer Limited, receiving the award of INR 35 lakhs.

Beyond the TGS100, a key part of setting the ground for TGS was the Road to TGS webinar series co-hosted by NuVentures and TiE Bangalore.
The series featured some of the most prominent names in the startup and VC space – from Vani Kola to Prashanth Prakash and Shekhar Kirani of Accel, Sanjay Nath of Blume, Joydeep Bhattacharya of Canaan, Krishna Depura of Mindtickle, and Jitendra Gupta of Jupiter. And we were honoured to also host Rajesh Bansal the CEO of the RBI Innovation Hub which is leading innovation for the central bank, as well as Karthik Sridharan, COO of US-based Fulton Bank.
